Super Cool Art Find:Artist Hubert Duprat Collaborates with Caddisfly Larvae as They Build Aquatic Cocoons from Gold and Pearls
“What if a caddisfly had only gold and other precious stones or jewels to work with?” thought Artist Hubert Duprat.
Super Cool Coffee Find:Drink a lot of coffee? It’s in your DNA. A new study found genetic variants linked with coffee consumption habits.
“This might explain why people vary in not only their coffee consumption behavior but also the stimulating or rewarding effect that coffee produces,” Marilyn Cornelis, research associate in the Department of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health
Coming Soon: A monthly fundraising art show that takes place at coffee shops and art galleries, where a percentage of products sold goes to Climate Change Activism. The art show will attract locals in the area to visit the location, see the Coffee Art, taste the Coffee and other items offered by the shop, and find out more about the local Climate Action projects to which they can contribute. There will be Climate Change speakers presenting and the opportunity to get involved!

Recent Shows:I was in the Chocolate and Art Show!We had a lot of fun, it was a great party downtown with live bands, nude painted people, and all sorts of art. I showed a few pieces, and ate a bunch of Chocolate.
This is my newest Coffee Art piece – one of the two largest I have ever done. It is two panels, measuring 5 feet X 5 feet. It is and Elephant’s trunk (see the little white eye in the upper left)  spiraling down into the shape of an another Elephant head, and then as it goes down the spiral there are two more smaller and smaller Elephant heads – 4 in all, like a fractal elephant spiral to infinity. Working with coffee has been a 10 year experience with nature, allowing the evaporation and sediment process to partially guide the end result. The natural fractal spiral is a reflection of that process, and the Elephant and Ganesh have always been one of my favorite subjects.
I am working on a logo for Thanksgiving Coffee Company. They are a great little company who have several projects helping small local growers around the world. We are doing this logo with their coffee as a gift to them for their great work!
This is a preview for a new series I am working on called “Pareidolia” – look for all the faces you can see!
